Welcome to the Holy Loch Sailing Club
The club is situated in the village of Sandbank on the South West side of the Holy Loch adjacent to Holy Loch Marina a couple of miles from Dunoon on the A885. The Holy Loch scenery is simply stunning and courses are set to accommodate a variety of conditions.
The sheltered moorings and slip allow racing in everything from the very calm to the thoroughly brisk. New members are very welcome.
HLSC runs RYA recognised training for juniors. New for 2016 the club invites adults to come and have a go at sailing - see our events page.
Series racing takes place on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. One off trophy races are held on some Sunday afternoons and the prestigious Polaris Regatta takes place over the second weekend in September each year.
Racing Starting at the beginning of May, racing takes place each Wednesday and points are cumulated over three series through the summer, each of 6 races (with one discard). Races start from the club line with the Flying Fifteens away at 1910 and the Dinghies, Pipers and Keelboats each 5 minutes behind respectively. Starts are notified by a system of lights and courses identified by a number which corresponds to a course shown in the members section on the website. One off events usually take place on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and starting times are shown in the members handbook. In addition the Pipers and Flying Fifteens have their own open regattas in the spring.
The club hosts a regatta on the second weekend of September - a great season finale. Any Member that holds a mooring licence please ensure your membership is renewed as early as possible. Please note social members are not allowed mooring licences through the HLSC.
