MarineBlast HLSC Regatta 2010

The Holy Loch Sailing Club regatta is celebrating its 50th birthday this year. In recent times sponsors have included local firms Murray Seafoods and GT Insulations and the name Polaris sticks out following a long association with the american navy during the cold war years. For 2010 we have a new sponsor in the form of Marine Blast. Business Owner Iain Hurrel is a keen and well known clyde yachtsman. His Marine Blast business specialises in rust and anti fouling removal . A seperate Marineblast Regatta wesite will go live shortly.
The HLSC Marine Blast Regatta will kick off on Friday 10th September with a feeder race from Kip for white sail yachts (points go to the white sail travellers series) . The club bar will be open on Friday to welcome the yacht crews.
On the Saturday and Sunday there will be racing for Pipers (local one design) Flying Fifteens (Scottish Travellers event) and dinghies in the loch. The White Sail fleet will get a good course around the upper firth - the intention for the White Sail fleet is to have a cruise in company around the upper firth - a good sail round with the chance of a prize at the end. Bring a picnic ! The emphasis is on enjoyable sailing - you dont need to be a full on racer for this fleet ....
Saturday evening -  expect music , food and fun in the club where the bar will be open. Attendance compulsory.
A warm welcome awaits at the 50th Birthday Marine Blast Regatta. 10th 11th 12th September.
