Harris Munns – Argyll and Bute Volunteer of the Year Awards Nomination
The Holy Loch Sailing Club was incredibly proud to see Harris Munns shortlisted as a finalist in both the Young Sports Coach of the Year and Young Volunteer of the Year categories at the Argyll and Bute Volunteer of the Year Awards, held on Friday 6th June at the Rosslea Hall Hotel in Helensburgh.
Sponsored by Live Argyll, these awards celebrate the contributions of young volunteers aged 12 to 25 who have shown outstanding enthusiasm and commitment to sport or physical activity, whether in schools or the wider community.
Harris has been a dedicated volunteer at the club for several years. He is a familiar and dependable presence at the club, helping every Thursday evening at Cadets, providing rescue cover, assisting with organising and performing maintenance tasks around the club, and even serving as a board member—all while finding time to regularly race his Laser dinghy. His involvement is a shining example of the positive impact young people can have within their communities.
Harris was joined at the event by Kirsty Brown, Commodore of the Holy Loch Sailing Club. While he narrowly missed out on winning an award, Kirsty praised his efforts, saying: “Congratulations Harris, that was no mean feat against very stiff competition.”
Everyone at the club shares in congratulating Harris for this well-deserved recognition of his hard work and dedication.
